Warsaw Ghetto Museum, Poland. 2020 - Ongoing

Having won the international juried competition in 2021, we were honored with the responsibility for conceiving and designing the comprehensive narrative exhibition at the Warsaw Ghetto Museum, ollaborating closely with the Krakow-based museum design agency, ARTFM. Drawing on meticulously crafted artistic installations, our approach aims to immerse visitors in a narrative that transcends traditional exhibition norms. By embracing a multi-sensory paradigm, we deftly interwove the senses of touch, sound, and sight, creating a rich tapestry of sensations that not only etched indelible memories but also fostered deeper connections with both tangible and intangible heritage. The culmination of our efforts resulted in a timeless and innovative fusion of heritage and foresight, leaving an enduring impact on those who engage with the exhibition.

Additional responsibilities include overseeing graphic design, sound design, film, and photography, sculptural and scenographic design. The management role involves overseeing a team of architects and designers, sourcing scientific expertise, facilitating communication between the curatorial team of historians, museum direction, and the design team. Our intricate coordination ensures a seamless integration of historical accuracy, artistic vision, and cutting-edge design, resulting in a captivating and impactful museum experience.

Unfinished Festival, Romania. 2019

Station to Station worked as the guest curator for Unfinished, a vibrant community of global thinkers and makers. Part festival, part talks, part art, part undefined, Unfinished is an experience in constant evolution. The name itself reflects the project’s core belief: that making the world a more conscious place is a continuous work in progress. UNFINISHED surpasses the thresholds of classic event structures and bridges the gaps – both geographical and cognitive – between people, between generations and between practices. And beyond these bridges, we delve into what sprouts in between disciplines and anticipate what is not yet defined as one. We thus celebrate curiosity as the single most important shared value in the quest for change across fields and borders.

Unfinished is a week-long immersive experience, taking place every September since 2015 at the city’s National Museum of Fine Arts in Bucharest, Romania. Gathering a vibrant community of global thinkers and makers, Station to Station invited a wide range of speakers and performers, such as therapist and author Esther Perel, Neuroscientist Moran Cerf, Writers Priya Parker and Anand Giridharadas, Artist Sebastian Errazurriz, Designer Stefan Sagmeister, Filmmakers Eugene Jarecki and Boris Hars-Tschachotin, Geopolitologist Virginie Raisson-Victor, Activist and Entrepreneur Lionel Bensemoun, Philosopher Marie Robert etc...

Pioneer Works, Center for Art and Innovation, USA. 2013-2015

In 2013, Ella was hired by artist Dustin Yellin to become the founding Program & Managing Director of Pioneer Works, Center for Art and Innovation, a non-profit cultural center in Red Hook, Brooklyn, dedicated to experimentation, education, and production across disciplines.

As the Center’s first Director, she was integral in shaping Pioneer Works’ residency, exhibitions and performances programs, as well as in building local and international partnerships. She worked with the founder to turn an abandoned brick and wood iron factory into one of New York’s most exciting and progressive art institutions; and helped create the center's core identity - one that transcends disciplinary boundaries to foster a community where alternative modes of thought are activated and supported, and where culture is accessible to all.

Spearheading Pioneer Works’ first ever annual fundraiser, coined the Village Fete, as well as the center's trademark monthly event: Second Sundays, an open house featuring open studios, performances and live music. Les Films de l’Air, France. 2018

Station to Station has been a founding partner in the independent Paris-based production company Les Films de l’Air since its inception in 2011. Les films de l'air produces and promotes innovative, socially-engaged documentary films. The company also curates original film series both in Europe and in the United-States.

In 2018, Station to Station produced Like Dolls I’ll Rise, a work of powerful original poetry starring 200 one-of-a-kind Black dolls created between 1840 and 1940, by anonymous African-American women, who tell a story of resistance, love and identity. Gathered together by Debbie Neff, the film is inhabited by the voices of women who bring the history of black America, racism and segregation, out of the shadows. Photographic documents also place them in the context of black and white children who had similar dolls. The film was first shown at the Maison Rouge contemporary Art Center in Paris, as part of a large exhibition on American Black Dolls - and has since traveled all around the festival circuit.
